LISA HACKETT

Deputy Director

Lisa began her work fighting for educational equity as a middle school science teacher at a Children’s Aid Community School in Washington Heights, New York City. Her experience there deeply shaped the vision for the school she later co-founded in the same neighborhood, where she also served as middle school principal. Most recently, Lisa was a Senior Managing Director of Programs at Teach For America, where she worked to support schools, develop teacher leaders, and build partnerships across nearly every educational setting in New York City. Now, as Deputy Director of the National Center for Community Schools, Lisa comes full circle—bringing the insights and experiences she has gained to further strengthen and expand community schools nationwide.
